On Sunday December 6, I had the opportunity of a lifetime – being named the Honorary Captain for the Chicago Bears vs. the San Francisco 49ers game! This meant that I was able to go onto the field before the game along with the other Illinois State Ambassador, stand with all the NFL players along the sideline during the National Anthem (which was followed by a jet flyover), and go out onto half field with the captains of both teams for the official coin toss! Yes, this means I got to meet Matt Forte, Jay Cutler, and Robbie Gould!
The energy from the jam-packed Soldier Field stadium—which holds 61,500 fans—during the national anthem felt like the world was cheering. Then the fighter jets flew over just as the anthem ended and I almost cried and fainted at the same time! I will never forget this experience I was blessed to be a part of and I can’t thank Fuel Up to Play 60 enough!
