The 2017 Fuel Up to Play 60 Ambassador Summit was an experience like no other. I came in very nervous because I really didn’t know anyone and I was left to figure things out myself. Immediately when I saw all the people, I felt welcome. People were saying “hi” and making me feel at home. Everybody was amazing.
I truly didn’t expect what had happened that night. We had a blast at US Bank stadium. We met NFL players, kicked field goals, played flag football, ate food, and so much more. I not only met so many amazing people that night, but learned so much.
The next day was just nothing short of amazing. I got to go to the WinField United Answer Plot and learn about crops and the technology they use on a farm. All the food was so good. We had picnics, made pizza, and I always felt full. NFL FLAG Football was great because it let us have fun and be competitive. The farmer engagement session was very cool too. We got to meet dairy farmers and hear about their experiences.
I really learned about leadership. Although it was so much fun, I learned a lot. We had lots of brain breaks which helped me come up with ideas to try and use in class and give ideas to teachers. Overall, the Summit doesn’t have words to explain it. It was awesome.

My experience at the 2017 Student Ambassador Summit in Minneapolis, Minnesota was a blast!
I learned a great many things about leadership, dedication, heathy eating, being active, and the power of students nationwide. When Chris Policinski, President and CEO of Land O’Lakes gave his speech on the importance of heathy eating, he informed us that 16 MILLION kids are eating healthier because of FUTP 60! This is a great example of the power of ALL the Student Ambassadors, Program Advisors, and Youth Council; not just those who attended the Summit.
Another great learning experience was my trip to Enchanted Dairy Farm. I learned about the importance of dairy farmers, their lifestyle, and the technology used in agriculture today. We saw the milking station, which slowly rotates as the cows are milked. I also observed how they made the feed for their cows by mixing various amounts of cerclage, halide, and other ingredients. They also showed us their farm machines and informed us about the different functions they perform.
An additional experience I enjoyed was the Engaging and Empowering Student Teams session. In that session we learned how to get your voice recognized. Our activity was to create a poster showing the various problems with FUTP 60 In our schools, and then create solutions to them. We also learned and tested several techniques to resources to implement our solutions in our schools.
My experience at the FUTP 60 Summit was awesome!

Imagine watching the next Super Bowl and saying that you’ve stood where that touchdown was just made. Well, the first night of the Summit I got to do just that! US Bank Stadium, where Super Bowl LII will be played, was huge and such an amazing experience. That was definitely a highlight of the Summit for me. I also got to be in a video welcoming new NFL players to FUTP 60. Everyone who participated in the video got a free NFL jersey!
Another highlight for me was getting to visit Land O’Lakes HQ. There, I learned about cows and healthy food options. That field trip raised my awareness towards dairy farmers and all the hard work they have to do. One of the 3 stations was creating our own mac ‘n’ cheese flavor. We had a menu to pick toppings from. I tried some new food like kimchi! When my team picked that ingredient I was a little nervous – but our mac ‘n’ cheese was the best! During the Summit I also went to a few breakout sessions and learned about recruiting new people for FUTP 60 and how to get kids moving in the classroom. I enjoyed taking notes so that I could bring all that I learned and share it with my school. The Summit was very educational and VERY fun!
