It is our second year of having FUTP 60 in our school and we made a lot of changes throughout the years. Since last year was our first year of having FUTP 60 at our school, we couldn’t do the Kickoff because we were late and we were new to it. So we had our first FUTP 60 Kickoff this year and it was really fun and all the kids enjoyed it.
The FUTP 60 team at our school planned our Kickoff and I’m the president of FUTP 60 in my school, so it was really interesting to hear ideas from the new FUTP 60 members that joined this year! They all had really awesome and great ideas and at the end we came up with a final plan for the Kickoff. To begin with, in our school we have two playgrounds, one for the middle school which is the big one and has a track and a lot of space, and one for elementary which has a swing set, slides, monkey bars, and stuff like that. We had the Kickoff in the middle school playground. We had five stations of physical activities set up and we had at least four FUTP 60 members at each station. The five physical activities were: Tug of War, Basketball, Relay Race, Football, and Spoon n’ Egg relay race. We had the whole elementary school come out and there was a grade in each station. They had to stay in each station for 15 mins and then we would blow a siren and they would have to rotate to next station. Also, games like Tug of War and Basketball were class vs class. We did the same for middle school that we did for elementary.
In addition, all teachers received points when their student or class won one of the games and one of the FUTP 60 calculated all the points. At the end of the year, the class that has the most points will receive some kind of a party and there will be one winning class selected for elementary and one for middle. They will be accumulating more points throughout the year when we do more FUTP 60 competitions! That was about it for our Kickoff!
