To raise awareness in our community for our school’s FUTP 60 program, I came up with a few holiday ideas and got my team involved.
Earlier this month, several Student Ambassadors and Program Advisors walked in our local Christmas parade. We were all decked out in our FUTP 60 gear and handed out FUTP 60 pencils and key chains to the crowd. One of my fellow Student Ambassadors decorated his scooter with Christmas lights and a large cutout of Morgan Burnett, Green Bay Packers Safety! Another carried a trifold of FUTP 60 photos and information. It was a lot of fun and great exercise as well!
The second Holiday activity we did was bell ringing for the Salvation Army in conjunction with a vegetable tasting at our local grocery store. You see, each month we team up with this grocery store to promote a different vegetable. This month it was a tough one…..PARSNIPS!! However, because my team is lucky enough to have awesome Program Advisors, they came up with a great healthy parsnip recipe for the shoppers to sample. So as shoppers came in and out of the store, they could not only donate to a great cause but sample some of our Parsnip Carrot Apple Salad as well! We also had the recipe printed off for customers to take with them so they could make their own! My Program Advisors and fellow Ambassadors each volunteered to participate in two hour shifts. We raised a lot of money for the Salvation Army and spread the word about FUTP 60 to a lot of people as well!
Both of these activities were a lot of fun and got everyone in the Holiday spirit!
