I wanted to tell you about this idea I had for a fun activity break! If other Ambassadors like this game/activity they can take it back to their classrooms.
1. Take your favorite team (mine’s the New England Patriots) and assign exercises that the players may use in their drills. They need to be small enough to do beside your chair. Here are some examples: squats, lunges, throwing motions, jump up, or jog in place.
2. Choose a player by calling out a name, picking a number, or picking cards from a stack of NFL cards, if you have them.
3. Determine the exercise based on what you assigned them.
4. Add the two jersey numbers together to determine the number of repetitions. For example, Gostkowski 3 = 0+3 = 3 repetitions, or Branch 97 = 9+7=16 repetitions.
5. Do the exercise!
You can use this idea for any NFL or sports team. You just need to assign the exercises to the player positions before you play it in the classroom. Get all of your Ambassadors to practice the exercises and lead at each table – it would be good to play sports music too!
Try this at your school with your team!
