My name is Lauryn, and I’m a Youth Council Member of the Fuel Up to Play 60 program. This year’s Summit in Minneapolis, MN was amazing! Attendance numbers were through the roof and over the top with the most Student Ambassadors in Fuel Up to Play 60 Summit history!
The kickoff was held in U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings and Super Bowl 52, pretty awesome, right? We played FLAG Football with some of the Vikings players and even NFL Hall of Fame inductee Jerome Bettis! The farm and answer plot tours that we took at Enchanted Dairy Farm and Winfield United were very interesting. We were exposed to the technological advancements in farming, milking cows, & the many uses of corn!
This year’s Summit was filled with new experiences and knowledge. My plans are to share this information with other Ambassadors across the state of Louisiana, encouraging them to get involved in this fantastic program. As a Youth Council Member, I can’t wait to return to next Summit next year to continue my journey empowering youth!
