Bears t-shirt day and playing flag football, through Fuel Up to Play 60, in P.E. has inspired nutrition and fitness at my school, Miguel Juarez Middle School. Giving apples, oranges and other fruits and vegetables during breakfast and lunch has helped everyone to eat healthy. When I was in elementary school, I couldn’t exercise a lot because I had asthma. But then I came to middle school and joined Fuel Up to Play 60. I joined our school’s fútbol (soccer) team. I practiced every day for more than an hour. I used my inhaler every time before I practiced. The more exercise I did, I noticed fewer problems I had with my asthma. Sometimes, I even go a whole practice without my inhaler. I learned through Fuel Up to Play 60 that drinking water when playing is important and eating healthy snacks after is also important.  My body is a lot better too. I have more muscles and less fat. I’m thankful for Fuel Up to Play 60 and my school for teaching me how to eat better and get more exercise.
