In life, you don’t know what something is worth until you don’t have it anymore. People all around us, including ourselves, take things for granted every single day. Now, amidst this pandemic, we think about this more than ever. We dwell in the days that we went to our school buildings and drove to work, but being stuck in the past is not going to help fix anything. Right now, we have to focus on what we do have because if COVID-19 has taught us anything, it is that we can’t take anything for granted anymore.

Luckily, there are people all around us that are making this experience better for our world. I am thankful for every single person who has helped our world prepare, adapt, and change so that everyone can forge ahead. Our teachers, principals, and school boards have all come together to make remote learning effective and interesting. Now, when I get up every morning, I become excited about what the day holds in store for me.

There are so many people in this world who have helped better the lives of others during this time. Doctors, scientists, even companies have adapted in order to provide help and resources to people across the world. These people have created a new and more connected world for us, a world where almost anything is possible, even with the restrictions of a pandemic. When COVID struck, we made our family gatherings virtual and it helped me to build stronger connections with my extended family spread across the globe.  You see, sometimes people that we don’t even know can change our lives. From school to video conferencing apps, the people behind it can impact us in the strongest of ways, whether we know it or not. Without them, our world would not be the same.

We should thank them for what they have done because when times got tough, they pulled through and brought our communities together. They made the world one big happy family, and I can’t even begin to imagine what the state of our world would have been without them.

A big thank you from our family to yours for making the world a better place.
