At my school we have a seek class. It is similar to a homeroom and is 45 minutes. We started a class last year where a hand-picked group of seventh graders are chosen for the Fuel Up to Play 60 class. It is a great way to get things done, but only seventh graders are allowed to be in that class. This coming school year, my goal is to start a Fuel Up to Play 60 executive board where we have the top leaders in the school together to make the plans and ideas.
We will also have a Fuel Up to Play 60 Club where anyone who wants to be in it, can. That Club will put the thoughts and plans into action. We will still have the seek class and they will help with publicity, flyers, etc. We are hoping that this plan will increase the number of students involved and the number of projects we will accomplish with everyone being hands on! I am looking forward to the changes being made in this upcoming school year.
