In two weeks I will be hopping on a plane to attend the 2014 Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassador Summit! When I first applied to be State Ambassador, I was extremely excited to attend the Summit. My peers who went to the previous Summits said it was a blast and they learned so much. When I was officially named as a New Jersey State Ambassador I was even more excited and curious about the Summit. I went online and learned about the 2013 Summit. I was amazed at the number of things the Ambassadors got to learn as well as do. Then, I was a part of a Summit conference call which taught me a lot more about what we are going to be doing at the Summit.
Two particular activities that caught my attention were the public speaking session and the YOUTHtalks speech contest. I have a passion for writing, especially for writing speeches, so when I heard about this opportunity I quickly started brainstorming what I would write. Since I enjoy writing speeches, it would be beneficial if I knew some public speaking techniques in case I would ever need to present my speech. These two activities mean so much to me, which is why I’m so excited for them! Other activities I’m excited to participate at the summit include:
- – Meeting other Ambassadors and getting to discuss our personal experiences with Fuel Up to Play 60 and how we strive to be healthy everyday
- – The high/low ropes courses
- – Spending a day at the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium
The Summit sounds like an amazing learning experience and I’m so excited that I get to be a part of it!

I’m a Montana state ambassador and I finish my speech… but I don’t get what we do with it?… does someone read it, or do we say/give it to someone?

Hi Shipper! For your speech, you can practice before the Summit. You’ll have the chance to give your speech for the judges when you arrive! See you soon 🙂
The summit is amazing! I am going to try to help to get my new school to become more active with FUTP60. Anyone have any ideas?
