Zombie Huddle Photo 3Happy Halloween! To celebrate, this school in Rhode Island planned their very own “Zombie Run” and got almost 500 students to participate–how awesome is that? Student Ambassador Shelby worked with her Program Advisor and team to make posters and get students to dress up as zombies or wear flag football belts and try to cross the finish line as “survivors”! Read more about this amazing idea and tell us about how you celebrated Halloween in the comments section.

Zombie Huddle Photo 2I personally feel the “Zombie Run” was a great success. We got our whole school up and running. Most took it as a competitive challenge to see who could cross the finish line first. If a civilian survived without getting their flag pulled by a zombie, the teachers would hand out a raffle ticket. During lunch some teachers when around with prizes that the survivors could choose from. We also gave out prizes to the zombie who pulled the most flags.

Zombie Huddle Photo 1It was very interesting to see the effort zombies put in to doing their makeup and their clothes. Some of the teachers also dressed up as zombies and ran the race. I feel like the teachers did a great job encouraging students to run with them and keep running with them. Most students did very well at setting a pace for themselves to run. I believe that this event encouraged students to become more active and exercise each day. I am very glad that most students had fun and were safe while exercising as well!
