Johnathan Huddle Photo 1I had the opportunity to attend and participate in Family Day at the Ohio Statehouse.  I had a chance to talk to some visitors about the Fuel Up to Play 60 program. I discussed different ways they could get involved with the program and gave examples on how to have physical activity breaks at school in their classrooms or even when they are at home. It was really exciting having my family there as well. My mother and I even helped with the activities by passing out tips on how to get involved with Fuel Up to Play 60. There were hands-on art and science activities, food-sampling from local markets, fitness demonstrations, and a variety of historical characters walking around.

It was fun reuniting with Avery (another State Ambassador) and her Program Advisor from the Cleveland area and we got to meet Governor Kasich! All three of us had the opportunity to perform a physical activity by performing the Happy Dance from the 2014 Student Ambassador Summit. We had all of the visitors join in with us to perform the dance. We had a wonderful time, but it was even more special that we were able to get everyone involved with different activities, and join in with others like the Ohio Jump Rope Team. I had a chance to jump with them and show them how I could jump rope, too. It was great passing out milk and cheese sticks to the visitors; I felt such pride in the Fuel Up to Play 60 program.

I am very grateful to First Lady Karen Kasich and ADA Mideast for inviting us to take part in a fun-filled family event to help promote the Fuel Up to Play 60 program. This was a great learning experience that I will remember for a lifetime.
