Next to “What is Fuel Up to Play 60?”, I get this question all the time. The reason I joined Fuel Up to Play 60 is quite simple; I wanted to make a change in my school. I was tired of seeing people eat unhealthy, as well as not get enough physical activity. I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives, my friend’s lives and Fuel Up to Play 60 was the opportunity. I met with my Program Advisor and came up with several ideas for our school. We ended up deciding on two activities, T.E.X.T. (Talking and Exercising to Tunes) time and the Grab-N-Go Breakfast. We got together with the Fuel Up to Play 60 committee at school and came up with a plan for implementation.
Finally, after Fuel Up to Play 60 was implemented in our school, that was when I started seeing change, not just as a group, but individually as well. My friends were more awake in class, performed better in gym, and ate a more balanced diet. A lot of people join the Fuel Up to Play 60 program for various reasons. As for me, I joined the program to make a difference.
I think that you are so dedicated to this program. I met you this summer and I can seriously say you care. Thank you for being a good role model for others at your school and kids like myself. Sometimes it seems that we can’t get the support that we need and it seems easy to give up. I remember you said at the summit that this program is too important to give up on and I remember that every time I hear no to my ideas. We really do need programs like FUTP60 for everyone to learn and never forget that your health relies on eating healthy and being active.

Thank you Bobby, You are very dedicated as well. I am glad to see that I am also a good role model for other kids. Like you said, it is hard to get the full support of your school, but you can’t give up. I hope that all goes well in your school and that you can make a huge difference in your freinds, school’s and communities’ lives.
