My visit to the White House for the 2015 Kids State Dinner was AMAZING! The first day in Washington DC we rode the Metro and toured the Smithsonian of American History. Our first stop was the FOOD exhibit where I met past winners. I also had time to tour the gowns of the First Ladies. Later in the evening we had a pizza party.
Friday morning we headed to the White House. I was so excited!!! We were lined up by state and we were announced by name and state to the press. We were able to look around many of the rooms of the White House. The rooms were beautiful! Each of us met Michelle Obama and had our picture taken with her. She was really nice.
At the lunch we were served some of the winners’ recipes. The dessert was a papaya dessert and was so good. Michelle Obama asked each one of us to think of how we can pay our experience of healthy eating forward in our school and community. President Obama came to the lunch too and met each winner. He was very tall! The last surprise was the Aladdin cast for entertainment. They were so good and fun to watch! Not only did I meet President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, but I met so many new friends from around the country. I will NEVER forget this experience!

Wow! That was the best trip ever. It was so cool. My favorite part of the trip was the White House! It was such a good time. I went to the Washington monument and lots of cool places. I think everyone learned and saw a lot.
I learned that the President’s favorite food is broccoli! I loved DC so much. Me and my dad loved it. The First Lady was so nice. I thought she was so cool. In all, I loved DC so much.
