I have been involved with Fuel Up to Play 60 for three years, and it has given me many wonderful experiences. Fuel Up to Play 60 gave me the opportunity to become a leader on our school’s leadership team. My teachers helped me develop into a good speaker and gave me the opportunity to present FUTP 60 in English and Spanish. Sometimes it was difficult to explain the FUTP 60 program to Spanish-speaking parents because all the information was only in English.
When I heard that FUTP 60 was going to have a Spanish website, I thought it was a great idea! Now Spanish-speaking parents can finally really understand the program. Then I was told that I would have the opportunity to tell people about it. I was so excited! ¡Estaba muy emocionada!
I went to back to my old school, Richmond Intermediate, and told the students how Fuel Up to Play 60 opened so many doors for me, and how much it helped me grow as a leader. I told the students, in English and en español, that eating healthy and being active is good for them.
Making the video was a lot of fun. My mom got to be in it too! I saw some of my old teachers and friends. I also helped students take the Fuel Up to Play 60 Pledge. I hope you see the video and check out the website.
¡Diviértase, coma saludable y haga ejercicio con Fuel Up to Play 60 en español!
