How did I spend my birthday earlier this month? I chose to spend the day volunteering and spreading the word to thousands of people about my passion: Fuel Up to Play 60! “Celebrate Families” was held earlier this month, which is a free resource fair with tons of vendors that a few thousand of the local public come to each year. I presented this idea to my Program Advisors and Ambassadors about one month beforehand and the very next day we were signed up to participate and had several volunteers. It was really exciting to see it all come together. We had a booth with an obstacle course as well. Upon completion of the obstacle course we handed out prizes such as Fuel Up to Play 60 pencils, stickers, and even signed copies of Jordy Nelson posters and more.
We were very successful in getting the word out to our local community about this amazing program. We talked to some people about getting started at their school too! It was a lot of fun and one of the best birthdays ever! I can’t wait to do it again next year!
