On March 2nd, I presented at the Champions for Health Youth Summit held in the Kansas City Convention Center. Kids and adults from all over the Metro area attended to listen to local speakers share about how they have helped make positive change in their community. It was a fun filled, interactive day that I was honored to play a roll in.

There were a few steps involved in preparing for this presentation. First, I met with Marley Sugar from the Midwest Dairy Council to put together an outline of important topics. Next, we put together an interactive slideshow to make the presentation pop! We were sure to include opportunities for the kids to be active and participate in the fun! We also got together prior to the presentation to practice. This included testing microphones, visual aids, and getting a feel for our space.

Our focus for the presentation was to introduce these community leaders to Fuel Up to Play 60 and its positive impact on kids in the classroom. We spoke to them about Brain Breaks, and demonstrated a few of our favorites (everybody loved this part). I also got the opportunity to share my Fuel Up journey.

I felt that it was important to include the experiences the program has given me, along with how easy it is to get involved. We also shared important facts about Fuel Up to Play 60 including how it can be customized to fit your school, and how many fun rewards it offers! After sharing what my team and I have implemented in our Middle School, audience member were motivated to try new things in their building.

I had so much fun presenting at the Champions for Health Summit! My team and I have lots of memories from the event too, including listening to the local speakers, along with taking silly photo booth pictures! The event was very welcoming, interactive, and beneficial to all ages! I hope I get to be a part of something like it again in the future.
