Hunter and Troy Aikman -2014 -photoIt is crazy to think that it is Back to School time once again. During the Fuel Up to Play 60 Summit in Texas this summer I was fortunate enough to rub shoulders with so many terrific people! It was amazing! The Summit was jam-packed with great information and fun! Everyone who attended left energized and ready to make a difference in their community! Oh and did I mention that I was lucky enough to catch a pass from Troy Aikman!!!

Hunter and Team 7 - 2014-photoAs I am writing this, I have just completed my first week of the 2014-2015 school year! On my third day of school, I had to turn in my first essay in English class. I thought it was a little crazy to have an essay due my third day of the year, but I am glad it was assigned. We were asked to write about if it is better to follow our heart or listen to our brain. It made me think a lot. I know my brain helps me understand complicated things and come up with the pros and cons of every decision I make. I also know that sometimes my brain pulls me in many different directions and even tells me that I am not good enough or that I can’t. My heart on the other hand knows me and my feelings best and knows that I can do whatever I set my mind to!

So my challenge to you for this school year is to follow your heart! Don’t let your brain – or anyone else – tell you that you can’t! You are amazing and very capable of doing great things this school year! Work hard in school, work hard on your Fuel Up to Play 60 efforts, and work hard on making a difference in all that you do!
