1. Get active by exercising while watching TV! During commercial breaks, instead of sitting on the couch, get up and start moving. Do some jumping jacks while your NFL team plays. Do some crunches while you listen to CNN. Challenge your family to a push up test as well. Try to compete and beat your mom or dad while jogging in place. Not only will this technique help YOU be active but also your family members, too!

2. Use a Wii or other game console for exercising on cold, snowy days. You can play tennis, soccer or fencing anytime! Using these products makes exercising fun and enjoyable. You can also challenge a friend or family member to a digital ping pong match or boxing. Get Just Dance and dance to your favorite tunes. You will learn some cool dance moves while getting a good workout. For more fun, you can challenge your pals to a dance-off, after school.
3. Do you have an old treadmill or stationary bike being used as a laundry rack? Here is an awesome way to get active. Put them back to use! Bring your treadmill or stationary bike to your living room. Whenever you see another boring commercial, hop on to your machine and start exercising! It’s a great way to get fit and watch your favorite show at the same time.
4. Sign up for some exercise classes and sports at your local gym or recreation facility. You can play your favorite sports indoors! Winter is a great time to start a new sport. You can go to lessons and practices to enhance your skills and also have an opportunity to make new friends while doing your new sport.
