Last week Kaylene K. and I got to travel to New York City for the GENYOUth Foundation board meeting. While there, we discussed the GENYOUth summit on September 17th through the 19th, offered ideas as to how GENYOUth can better reach out to students, and gave all of the Fuel Up to Play 60 students a voice.

As my grandfather and I departed the plane, we were welcomed by a foggy cityscape of lights. It was late, so we immediately got to sleep so we could have a full next day. And that is exactly what we did! We hit the city early but we were hopelessly lost for what felt like forever. Eventually we got to where we needed to be and ate a big, healthy breakfast.

Soon it was time for the GENYOUth board meeting to begin. Being in the board room was a completely new experience. The atmosphere was strictly business: fast paced, professional, and very organized. Attending the meeting was an amazing experience that I will cherish forever. I got to hear from so many influential people and add my own input on a topic that I care so deeply about.

The GENYOUth Foundation has brought together so many influential individuals from young to old to bring forth important facts. I am so proud to support healthy eating and exercising in my school and to know that we are capable of making a difference and being heard.

Thanks, Bobby! I think I speak for everyone when I say we are so glad we got to meet you, too! Your enthusiasm for the program is amazing, and I know I personally learned alot from you and the other ambassadors at the Summit! The GENYOUth Foundation is amazing and I learned that it cares majorly for kids’ health and wellness and does everything in its power to help us, kids, live healthier lives. Like Emma said, the setting was very different from other Fuel Up to Play 60 events I’ve attended, but you could still really feel how much they cared for our generation’s wellness. Kim, I miss you guys! If you ever have any questions whatsoever, make sure to contact us!
