Hi everyone! I hope all is well in your schools with winter on its way! I understand how this time of year may seem hard to get active and keep those healthy habits, but trust me, there is plenty to do. First, if you’re looking for a quick and easy way to get Fuel Up to Play 60 going in your schools, here’s an idea for you! My middle school has had a huge success selling smoothies to the students, as it is a very nutritious and scrumptious way to get our peers aware of our message. Get your team together, choose a recipe that includes dairy and healthy fresh fruits and/or vegetables, and then get blending! It’s a ton of fun for your team and it can help fund further events at your school, while keeping students healthy.

Now for those of you who are starting to get the cold weather blues, I have some tricks! Although the wide open air is nice, look around you, the indoors can be like a huge play-set. You can transform a room into an obstacle course, and the fastest to get through wins! Or if you’re not up for that and need something quick, why not throw a dance party! Dancing is a natural and almost uncontrollable movement when good music is playing, so get some tunes playing and it will be hard to make them stop! Also if you want to go all-out, how about using the whole school? You can set up stations in every hallway with different games and drills. This is a way to get everyone involved doing something they like, even the teachers!

I hope some of these ideas can you moving in your school! I wish everyone the best of success!
