I was thrilled to receive an invitation from the American Dairy Association North East to attend the New York Jets Fuel Up to Play 60 Leadership Forum. The event was held at the New York Jets training facility on March 23, 2017. The first thing I got to do when I arrived at the facility was so much fun! I got to taste two types of smoothies and vote for my favorite one!! One was a chocolate smoothie and the other was a strawberry banana smoothie. My favorite was the strawberry banana smoothie!

Next, I got to go to the film room where all the players come to watch films about other teams! The event started off with opening remarks and then I was called to come to the front of the room to be interviewed. I responded to questions about the Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassador Summit in Indianapolis and shared some strategies and tips with students/schools that are new to Fuel Up to Play 60.

After that, I got to meet a local dairy farmer and learn what it is like to be a dairy farmer. Next, Muhammed Wilkerson, the defensive end for the New York Jets, came in and talked to the group about eating healthy and being active! Not only did he speak about being active, he also engaged with the students in a game show. Muhammed Wilkerson was the captain of one team while the dairy farmer was the captain of the other. We competed in different physical activity competitions and answered trivia questions about health and wellness too! We also got to go on the field and play flag football.

Overall it was a great experience because I got to share my Fuel Up to Play 60 experiences and I also got the chance to get active for 60 minutes with Muhammed Wilkerson!
