I thought it would just be another day at school until Duron Harmon, Safety for the New England Patriots strolled into our gym in the middle of PE class! It was such a surprise. Pat Patriot was there, too! He’s crazy!

Not only did Duron Harmon throw footballs with us in gym class, but he also gave us some great advice, which was “Eat a good breakfast every day.” He said breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I agree with what he said, because if you eat a healthy breakfast, it stimulates your brain in a good way that helps you concentrate and focus on what the teachers are teaching in the classroom.

For National School Breakfast Week (March 7 – 11), I issued a challenge to my home room class. If they all eat breakfast every day this week, I will wear a banana costume to school on Friday!

Breakfast rocks! I would like to give a special thanks to the New England Dairy & Food Council for surprising me and my classmates with our Duron Harmon and Pat Patriot visit. Thank you so much!

Remember, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Start your day off right.

Our athletes have early morning practice so we don’t always have time to eat breakfast before we leave the house. We proposed to the cafeteria ladies if they would stay open for 15 more minutes after their regular breakfast that we would fill the cafeteria with athletes. They said they would. All the athletes now get to eat breakfast and their sales have gone up by at least a 100 or more breakfast plates being sold.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it is the perfect way to start of your morning. Breakfast helps give me that burst of energy that fuels me through the day. It gives me the strength I need to get to lunch. It also helps improve my work in school.

Starting off with a healthy breakfast can help you focus in class and get better grades. It also keeps you from falling asleep during your early classes, and prepares you for the day. In a study of 29 children (ages 8 to 12) the University of Arkansas found that kids who eat a protein-rich breakfast burn more calories than kids who consume a carbohydrate-heavy breakfast.

Starting out with a well-balanced nutritious breakfast can help you fuel greatness.
