When I first got out of the car after driving from New Hampshire to Purdue University in Indiana, I was what you would call a jumble of nerves. I had excitement, nervousness, and was a little fearful about what was to come over the next 4 days. After our Orientation, we met our teams for the first time. Sure, we might have chatted in a group talk before, but we were just like family. That’s what the Summit was about, family and cooperation.

Inside Team 9, we had separate people focusing on different things. Students used their leadership and artistic talents in many different ways, from making a poster for the Smoothie Blend-Off to doing our rock the house version of High School Musical’s finale for Team Talent Night.

There were many times where people could shine out amongst the crowd of all the other amazing students at the Summit. I had the amazing honor to be voted by my group to be in the top five for the Power of Persuasion Competition. I’ll never forget Destinee from Wisconsin, who pulled off a fantastic flip for the beginning of the talent night and Lauren from Missouri, who had the AMAZING idea of adding a fruit kabob to our Easy Breezy Tropical Freezy Smoothie!

In conclusion, I had some of the best days of my life at the FUTP 60 Student Ambassador Summit. I’d give the overall experience an 11/10, hands down, it was so worth fundraising to get me there! I hope to continue going, and hopefully, I can see YOU there next year!

OMG! This 2016 Student Ambassador Summit was AMAZING!!! This year we got to go to the Fair Oaks Farms, Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center (the Colts Training Center), and stay at Purdue University in Indiana.

At Fair Oaks Farms we got to experience 2 cows giving birth, try some amazing fresh milk, get a farm tour, and learn about farming/agriculture. Then, at Purdue University we had a Smoothie Blend-Off, and The Program Advisors had a Breakfast Bowl Cook-Off, which was delicious. Finally to top it all off, on the last day we had a NFL FLAG Football tournament with NFL Alumni Players, which was so much fun!

During the whole Summit, everyone had a blast learning so much about being leaders and role models through sessions, mentors, and activity breaks. I can’t wait for this school year to come, and hopefully I will be able to come back to the 2017 Summit!
