Sharing my FUTP 60 Experience

I had the opportunity to be the South Dakota State Ambassador for the Fuel Up to Play 60 program for 2017-18.  Recently, I had the opportunity to present about my personal experiences with the program to the International Dairy Food Association and the MilkPEP in Washington, DC. It was very cool!

I shared with them about how the Fuel Up to Play 60 program has helped my school get equipment for P.E. and how we work with the lunch ladies to find healthy but kid-friendly choices. I was also able to explain how my personal leadership has grown through events such as the Student Ambassador Summit and working with my student team to plan events such as our annual FUTP 60 Kickoff.

To add to the meeting, I played the video I made for my application & also a student video we made to win a trip to the Vikings Football Stadium. My Program Advisor (Armando Rodriquez), teammates and I have worked hard to get the word out about Fuel Up to Play 60. This presentation was an excellent change for leaders to hear from a student perspective and it was a good learning experience for me as well to share back with the groups that support our programs. We also made time to take in the sites of DC, which was a bonus!
