I enjoyed the Panthers visit to our school on April 2, 2015. We earned this party from being among the top 10 schools with the number of active students in the Fuel Up to Play 60 program! It was a fun experience to have a healthy and fun day with two Panthers football players, Thomas Davis #58 and Graham Gano #9.
It all started with breakfast! Students from the Fuel Up to Play Team and our school staff had a great time hanging out with the football players and eating a healthy breakfast prepared by our school’s cafeteria staff. After breakfast everyone came to a pep rally, also known as the “Panthers Party”, to have a great time!
The gym was transformed into a Panthers fantasy with games, a DJ booth, and a big Panthers Tunnel that students walked through when they entered. To start off the Panthers Party the cheerleaders did a cheer and a routine to help get the students excited. Then students and teachers were picked from 7th and 8th grade to do fun games to earn points for their team. In the end the 8th grade won and their prize was the Panthers spirit stick. Even though the 7th grade did not win it was a fun and healthy experience!

Great article Emery! Aunt JaNene is so proud of you! Awesome!
Awesome job Emery!! The experience is one that many students will remember. Our school enjoyed having members of the Carolina Panthers. In addition, all activities played by students and teachers were fun….. including the chocolate ice cream eating contest.
Emery you did a great job on the article. You are a great mentor for students of Southside and throughout the community.
