It was my 7th grade year that I found my interest in Fuel Up to Play 60. I first began the program with my school nurse Mrs. Monique, she was also a big influence on my journey. After being involved with this program I have built a better relationship completing challenges and just various activities on the site. A couple of months in, something on my Dashboard popped up called the “Fuel Up to Play 60 National Student Ambassador Summit.” At that time my interest grew bigger and bigger until I completed the application, later on finding out I was accepted.

Attending my first Summit in Indiana last year, I actually received my first warm welcome from Youth Council leader Lauryn. At that time I was not sure what I had gotten myself into, but Lauryn made me feel comfortable. She molded me into a great leader that I am right now and I will never forget her for that. At the 2016 Summit I met lifelong friends Prescott from New Hampshire and Atziry from Arizona. Those two made my first Summit the best one I could actually ask for. I was very grateful to have them there to share this wonderful experience.

The next year I was invited to the 2017 Summit in Minneapolis, Minnesota. There I surprisingly received Lauryn as my team leader once again.  At the end of the Summit I was told that I would be a wonderful youth leader just like Lauryn. My favorite part about this year’s Summit was getting to attend US Bank stadium and also meeting Jerome Bettis “The Bus.”  He is a former NFL player for my  favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. That made my second Summit the best! Fuel Up to Play 60 has made a big impact on my life and I hope that it will make a bigger impact on yours!
