(At the end of my post, I have a challenge for you having to do with submitting entries for challenges, so make sure to check it out!) If you had the chance to make a fun, unique video to share with kids and adults around the country, would you? I know I sure would! Making and uploading a video might seem to you like it wastes time or is too difficult. A couple years ago, I felt the same way. I ruled out the whole idea of competing in the Fuel Up to Play 60 challenges. After I saw some other kids’ entries from across the country, I decided to at least try it. My fellow members of the Fuel Up to Play 60 club at my school and I recorded and submitted our first video, and it was exciting for all of us to see ourselves online! We’ve competed in every challenge since then, and the making and the uploading of the videos gets easier every time! Filming is so much fun, and it’s obvious that everyone who uploads challenge videos has a blast while recording them!

My favorite challenge that I have gotten to compete in was last year’s, “Cooking Show Challenge.” Not only did it give me an excuse to go over healthy family recipes with my mom, but it also showed me how much my opinion and the opinions of all Fuel Up to Play 60 participants matter! On the Fuel Up to Play 60’s website, under the dashboard, there is a column to the right that allows you to contribute to Fuel Up to Play 60 by submitting a challenge idea, answering student polls, and sharing success stories. It was here that I decided to submit a challenge that I thought would be fun to do. I have always liked to cook, and I thought it would be cool to see the healthy recipes people across America had. I guess it sounded like a good idea, because this specific challenge was very similar to the idea I had submitted! Having been able to say I was a part of making the challenge made me all the more excited to submit an entry!

With all of this being said, I have a challenge for you. Step out of your comfort zone, and submit a video to complete the current, “Super Bowl Breakfast Challenge.” Whether you win a national or local prize or not, you will have the prize of being in a video on a national website, you’ll also earn a cool Fuel Up to Play 60 badge!

For those of you who already submit entries for the challenges, I challenge you to think of all of the cool videos you’ve made. Think of what you liked about them and what you can improve on to make them even cooler! Also, leave a comment saying which challenge has been your favorite, so the Fuel Up to Play 60 team can create more challenges that you enjoy. Remember, your opinion matters, so let it be known!
