Johnathan Training Camp Picture 2Recently I attended a Fuel Up to Play 60 Training Camp at Paul Brown Stadium along with my Program Advisors, and also my mom (who is a new Program Advisor). As the State Ambassador I was honored to be selected as one of the eight students to speak on a panel to discuss my efforts and goals to encourage students to “fuel up” at my school. I had an opportunity to speak in front of more than 250 Program Advisors from 4 to 5 different states and meet other Ambassadors!

Johnathan Training Camp Picture 1I also had had an opportunity to meet Bengals Running Back, Giovani Bernard and listen to him share his testimony about his challenges and successes growing up. I was able to relate to him in many ways as a student and young football player. He also shared why he believes in the Fuel Up to Play 60 program and why it is important eat healthy, get good exercise and promote the program amongst my peers and community. Some of the Bengals cheerleaders led us in a dance to get our hearts pumping and it was great watching my mom and my Program Advisors have fun while exercising. I left the training camp not only with great information to share with my peers about getting pumped about living and eating healthy, but I also received an autograph football signed by Giovani Bernard!

Becoming a State Student Ambassador has given me so many opportunities to step outside my comfort zone and represent my family, my school, and my community. Thank you Fuel Up to Play 60 for this awesome experience!
