Corey E. and Joe Briggs Huddle Post PhotoMy name is Corey E., State Ambassador from New York. Recently I went to the GENYOUth Foundation Roundtable in Manhattan and I have three words to describe it: It. Was. AWESOME! It was such a fun and incredible experience and I feel so lucky to have been able to go to it. The experience was unbelievable and there is no amount of words in the world that can help me describe it. I was chosen to go after becoming a Fuel Up to Play 60 Ambassador, constantly working with my Program Advisor, and basically being good at it (so you could do it too)!

The Roundtable is a meeting where loads of different people from loads of different places come together to share ideas and plans regarding physical activity and good health. Some people at the Roundtable were WNBA player Skylar Diggins, Peter Hexter from BRAX Fundraising, and Alexis Glick, the Chief Executive Officer of the GENYOUth Foundation. At the Roundtable we discussed numerous things such as how to get more people involved in getting active and eating healthy, and plans people had in mind to achieve this goal.

I feel like going to this Roundtable was very important for me to do because it gave me so many new incredible ideas. Once I got on the train to go back home, so many ideas were popping into my head that it made it hard for me to think! One of my ideas was to have a “Fuel Up to Play 60 Council” at my school. I’d want it to include a few serious students and a few teachers who come together once every two weeks to talk about new ideas and how they see Fuel Up to Play 60 changing kids in the school. It’d be almost like a mini-roundtable after school!

Overall, my experience at the Roundtable was incredible and I wouldn’t exchange it for anything else in my life. I even got my very first bowtie from Joe Briggs, who works for the NFL Players Association! How cool is that?! The experience was nothing like anything else in my life and I am so glad I was a part of it.
