As the wind begins to blow a little harder and the days get a little chillier, it starts to become more difficult to stay active outside. I don’t know about the Ambassadors living in Texas and Florida, but it’s definitely been a cold start to the winter season here in New Jersey! There are plenty ways to continue to stay active and eat healthy however during the winter, and the holiday season always brings new ideas to the table. To help spread the festive cheer throughout our school, our health and wellness club collaborated on creating a Healthy Holiday Cookbook for the staff. The book was handed out on the morning of the holiday faculty breakfast and received countless complements on its creativity. As the New Year approaches, my personal health goal is to develop smarter snacking habits with new ideas for yogurt smoothies, healthy dips for fruits/vegetables, and foods that can substitute common snacks such as cookies, chips, and soft drinks. I hope all of the Fuel Up to Play 60 students, dairy farmers, and NFL players are having a happy holiday and looking forward to positive changes in the coming year!

Hello Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassadors, dairy farmers, and NFL. ‘Tis the season of giving and receiving. Every Christmas, I reflect on all I have done and been given this year. I hope you take time this holiday season to relax, remember all you are thankful for, and count your blessings. I hope that everyone has a good Christmas and a Happy New Year. Happy Holidays to ALL.

As the holidays are approaching I encourage everyone to get involved with their community, whether it’s by volunteering at shelter or donating food to a local food bank. I encourage everyone to set goals for the New Year; but don’t just set new goals, achieve those goals. As the year is coming to an end, look back at all the great things you have accomplished and decide to make the New Year even better and greater than this year! To all the Fuel Up to Play 60 students, continue to shine and do great things in this upcoming year. To all dairy farmers and the NFL, thank you for all the support you have provided us with this year. I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas to all! These Holidays, my school is writing cards to go in meals-on-wheels bags. This New Year, I wish to eat more healthy foods and expand the variety on my dinner plate. Over the New Year, students should get involved because Fuel Up to Play 60 has just launched applications for Summit Ambassadors. I hope all students out there try to be a Summit Ambassador because the Summit is a blast!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! I hope Fuel Up to Play 60 has been going well in your schools! YAY! Winter is here, and with that comes the holidays! This is one of the best times to get Fuel Up to Play 60 pumping in your schools.

Although it might be a little tricky for some of us who live where it’s colder, like I do, to get moving outside, and for all of us to stay healthy with all of the holiday sweets around, this is no time to give up. There is still plenty you can do! You can have dance parties, relay races, even snowball fights counts (but be careful!). You can always stay eating right too. One thing to try with your team is giving favorite recipes a healthy makeover. Changing a few ingredients can really up the nutritional value. Maybe your school could have a healthy recipe challenge. Make a goal to try a new fruit or vegetable, or low fat dairy food each week.

Also, don’t forget to make a New Year’s Resolution to get at least 60 minutes of play a day, eat healthy, and keep your wellness in check. Just remember to stay motivated, healthy, and most of all, have a great time! I hope you guys can all kick off the New Year with some Fuel Up fun! Good luck! Happy Holidays! Fuel Up. Play 60. Make a difference!

Running on your treadmill at home or going to the gym is also a great way to stay active during the winter! Plus on treadmills, you can incline the elevation. Happy fitness!
