Welcome to Fuel Up to Play 60’s The Huddle! I’m honored to kick-off this new student blog and share some thoughts with you. The Huddle is designed to be a place for students like you to share stories and advice on how to stay active and eat healthy throughout the year. Posts will go up every “Team Up” Tuesday and “Fuel Up” Friday and be written by students, for students (with a few posts from guest bloggers like me!).

I had the opportunity to meet some awesome National Student Ambassadors and State Representatives recently at the Student Ambassador Summit in Washington D.C. What impressed me the most was hearing not only the progress they’ve already made towards making healthy changes in their schools, but also their big ideas for the future. This is a community of dreamers and doers! Information sharing and brainstorming are two key reasons why Fuel Up to Play 60 hosts an annual Summit. This blog is intended to be another way for students to share what you’re doing with one another.

Growing up, I really wish I had a space like this to connect with friends, classmates and students all across the country. Majoring in communications at the University of Southern California, I’ve learned how important it is to get together, share ideas and stay connected. As quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, it’s my job to talk to the team during every huddle, get them prepared for the play, and keep them excited and energized. Now it’s your turn to do the same! As students, it’s your job to link up and discover cool new ways for your friends and classmates to Fuel Up to Play 60!

Ready, break!

Keioko- Right now, there are fun chances to win cool NFL prizes, like a player visit or customized jersey! If you sign the Fuel Up to Play 60 pledge and get as many of your classmates as you can to take the pledge too, your school could win an NFL Pep Rally and visit from an NFL Player. Visit the Fuel Up to Play 60 website to take the pledge and learn about more exciting challenges and prizes!
