Dear Fuel Up to Play 60,

Hi!! I am Riya S. from the school Ridge Family Center for Learning. I will tell you about a couple things Fuel Up to Play 60 has done for our school. Since we have started Fuel Up to Play 60, it has been more than fun for our school. We have done many things to promote Fuel Up to Play 60. Since I am a Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassador, I have been involved in this for a pretty long time. It has been a huge honor to present our school. Our school has been changed by Fuel Up to Play 60 in many ways. We have done activities like Bears Day. Bears Day is when we do a school wide day of play. We can exercise and just have fun! We all do so many push-ups, sit ups, and jumping jacks. We also did a Bears door decorating contest. Our main topic was Bears healthy eating. My class won both times we did the contest! It was really exciting for everybody!! At least I know that my class had fun with Fuel Up to Play 60. Our school has also done many videos, challenges, and activities with Fuel Up to Play 60. We also have got many different prizes from Fuel Up to Play 60 like backpacks, lunch boxes, and T-shirts. One of the last things Fuel Up to Play 60 has encouraged us to do is change our foods we are eating. This year we have changed our lunch menu with all healthy foods with all your nutrition servings for your day. There are many tasty and healthy food choices you can pick from every day. In the food category, we have also done a healthy food show broadcasting live every Wednesday morning to all the classrooms in the school. We call it the Ridge Food Network. On the Ridge Food Network, we have students and teachers show us how to make good healthy snacks. I have done it many times like when I did a fruit salad. I took low-fat vanilla yogurt and a bunch of different fruits and mixed them together. It was really good. There was another time I did a lime and kiwi smoothie with a couple of my friends. Fuel Up to Play 60 has numerous fun challenges too. Our school has done many. We have tried to make our school the best school for Fuel Up to Play 60. We are a touchdown school and we would really appreciate if you give us the grand prize! Those activities are only SOME of the stuff we have done for Fuel Up to Play 60. Hope you enjoyed! Thank you for spending some of your time to read this. I hope to hear from you!!

Thanks again,
Riya S.

First to all, the kiwi smoothie sounds really good. With me trying to be a vegaterian, that would be good. (I’m just doing that for the fun of it. Seeing how long I would last.)

My gym class, which is all girls, just got all set up with this website Monday. All of the class that the girls have for gym are separated into hours and some of the girls didn’t get register because the gym classes are also on day 1 or day 2. Confusing right?

Bonner Springs Elementary school won a Play 60 assembly with the Kansas City Chiefs, and this week we had 2 Chiefs employees, the KC Wolf mascot, and Anthony Davis, a retired Chiefs player come to our school and talk about Play 60 and the importance of nutrition and fitness. It was a great time and very exciting.
