JPEG Fuel Up to Play 60 logoMy Fuel Up to Play 60 team held a “Mini-Summit” on May 28, 2014. I am super pumped about our game plan for next year! The whole team was there and we were one big offensive line doing spring practice and preparing for the upcoming season. I think attending the Mini-Summit really benefited me because I am now more motivated than ever to help improve our school’s health by encouraging my classmates and community to eat healthy and be more active! We did physical activities such as hikes and dance sessions to keep our blood pumping and good ideas flowing. I am really proud of my team and how we all work together to create a game plan for next year that will convince people of all ages to eat healthy and be active for 60 minutes a day or more.

At the Mini-Summit, we first discussed everything we had done this year and what worked best and what we could do to improve our campaign for a healthier community. Then, we set goals for next year. We had to consider where we are now and where we want to be at the end of next year. We set short term, medium term, and long term goals for each of our Plays. I think setting goals for multiple time frames is good because it will help us keep up with where we are at and how far we have to go when we are doing these plays next year.

It was also a really good bonding opportunity for the team members. We have to work together a lot and it’s good to get to know everyone better and hear their ideas for what we should do. I think everyone on our team has a lot to offer and we can do anything when we work as a team. Our Mini-Summit was really fun and was also beneficial to our team! We got active, ate a healthy breakfast and lunch, and made a game plan for next year. I am ready for next year and I cannot wait to encourage our community to get active and eat healthy!
