Solaris Huddle PhotoHi I am Solaris, your 2013-2014 Nebraska State Ambassador. I have changed schools from last year to this current year, and it was a struggle trying to get Fuel Up to Play 60 started in my new school. First I talked with my gym coach and he agreed to be my Program Advisor. We did a booth at our school’s Open House and started talking to people about the program, and we put up posters. Then he told me he was leaving to go to another school so I am back at stage one!

Here are my steps to starting Fuel Up to Play 60 in a new school:

1. Find a Program Advisor. It could be a nurse, coach, member of the health and wellness team, or teacher. I had my Program Advisor who was leaving help find me a new one.

2. Meet with your Program Advisor and students to plan for the upcoming school year.

3. Activate your plan and go spread the word to everyone in your school and community.

4. At the end of the year, review your success from the school year.

Now I wish you guys the best of luck, and new Ambassadors: be prepared to have lots of fun!
