My dad is a second grade teacher. I begged him to go out to his school to teach some of the kids about Fuel Up to Play 60! Since I had off school one day, I was finally able to go along to work with my dad. I talked to his homeroom class about who I am, what I like to do, and what I do as a Wisconsin State

Ambassador for the Fuel Up to Play 60 program. I was then notified that ALL of the other teachers wanted to hear me talk about this program to their classes too! I went to their kindergarten through second grade rooms and talked to them about Fuel Up to Play 60. I showed them the 2014 Student Ambassador Summit video, taught them about healthy eating and exercising, and wrapped up the presentation with “The MOO Cow Song”.

This video was given to me by the Wisconsin Dairy Council. It is a fun, interactive dance video that promotes eating and drinking dairy and giving our cows a thank you for all they have done. The students were dancing along, raising the roof, and moving their hands up and down as if they were milking a cow.

I was also interviewed by two kids for the school’s newscast of the month! They asked me questions such as, “Does all of your school do this program?” and they asked me, “What things do you get to do for the program?” I answered as if being on a live news cast. All of the kids were intrigued and said they would love to join the program. I gave them a little homework, which was to go home and tell their parents what they learned about this program today. At recess, I went outside with the kids and played basketball to get our 60 minutes of exercise. At the end of the day, all of the kids were high fiving me saying “good job”, “thank you”, and “see you later!”
