Hello, my name William and I am a Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassador at my middle school in Connecticut. I am going to talk about a weeklong event that we are doing at our school, called Fit Week. Our students came up with these fabulous ideas using help from the Fuel Up to Play 60 Playbook.

Monday: 5th Grade 5 Minute Morning Workout – right off the buses. Our team will lead students in a series of 30 second exercises, with 10 second rest intervals. The exercises will include jogging on the spot, jumping jacks, lunges, squats, torso twists, and jump rope.

Tuesday: Breakfast For Lunch event in the cafeteria! Our cafeteria will be offering samples of a new dish and ask students to vote yes or no on adding it to the menu. A breakfast challenge will be set up on the stage, consisting of fun breakfast fact stations. Students who answer questions at all of the stations will receive a ticket for a drawing of Fuel Up to Play 60 footballs and inflatable cows.

Wednesday: Negotiations are underway to organize a 5th grade teacher competition like volleyball, for all 5th grade students to watch in the gymnasium.

Thursday: Healthy Snack Thursday. Our team will try out their leadership skills and approach their teachers with some suggestions on how to encourage healthy snacking in the classroom.

Friday: Physical Friday. All students and staff will be asked to dress as they would for a favorite physical activity.

I would like to give thanks to the Fuel Up to Play 60 Playbook for giving inspiration for our ideas. I love making these decisions with my 5th Grade Team and I have a feeling that we are going to make big changes at our middle school!

Maybe on mondays you should increase the running time. 30 seconds isn’t gonna get your fitness very high, no offense. Maybe encourage your classmates to stride for 5 mins, walk for a minute or something like that! I run normally 4 times a week, 5 miles each workout. I’m training for my track season that starts soon. I plan to win nationals this year in my 3000m run (About 2 miles) Hope this helps!:)

By the way, it’s really AWESOME that you encourage your school to do that. I wish my friends would do fueluptoplay60. They won’t do it.

Nice way of encouraging the school to stay active and healthy. Also, I love your Patriots jersey. I just got a Gronkowski one for my bday recently.
